Hugo can relate. He’s been fooled so many times. By kids, grown people. It’s painful, but he’s good at hiding it. Well… he hides it as long as he can. Because sometimes there’s just not enough strength to hold it inside.
He swallowed thickly, trying to think about a neutral response, to not look like he knows the pain very well, and to not look like he don’t care.
